New brands and new car launches are always high-stake projects. We had been working with Morris Garages India since MG Live 2018. Like everyone, we were aware that MG would soon be launching their first car in the Indian market and that it was to be a hi-tech SUV.
MG India approached us for an angle hunt project for the pre-production vehicle which also involved photographing the complete car for the training manual. Since the car was yet to be launched, we created a make shift studio and a turntable at the MG India factory in Halol, Gujarat.
Once the appropriate angles were selected by top management and our suggestion, we went on to photographing the print and digital assets for the Hector (MG’s SUV, as they’d name it) in London, UK. The three-day photography project took place around Paddington Central station and Canary Wharf, with the main aim being to capture the car in a practical everyday life situation. The outcome of which were used as the launch images for the Hector in India.
Post the creation of the launch images we did a extended photoshoot for the accessories department, covering all the genuine accessories MG India would be selling to their customers. The production took place in a private studio in Mumbai where we photographed close to 140 accessories and the complete accessorised car.
The assets from the photo – productions were used on the website, brochure and full-scale prints for the various dealerships and service centers opened across the country.
The MG Hector campaign was one of the most extensive campaigns we have shot till now. The whole team worked along with the MG Motor team for nearly 4 months making sure the content created was top notch and none of it was leaked before the launch of the vehicle.
The whole process of working on the various projects with MG was a huge learning opportunity for us and we are looking forward to working on multiple projects with them.
