There is nothing more satisfying than taking an enjoyable drive to a beautiful location in a spectacular car and then photographing that car. I live and breathe photography and automobiles.
In 2012 I decided to leave Cell Biology behind and moved back to India to make photography my career. I dabbled in fashion, lifestyle and wildlife photography before picking out automobiles as my niche. Having had some experience in these various styles of photography allows me to integrate my skills when it comes to photographing cars or bikes.
I love the outdoors and exploring new places. I may be from the coast but I cal the mountains home. Till date my favourite car ever is a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL and the best car I have driven is a Lamborghini Countach.
Now under the title of The Autofocus, I work with a great team and together we strive to create the most unique and awe-inspiring content in the field of automotive media/visual art.
When people say they call the mountains home, there are only a few that actually mean it. Iʼd like to say that Kanika is one of them.
Having being born and brought up in Shima and having an unending appetite for adventure and taking on new challenges, Kanika is the driver behind all the projects at The Autofocus. She handles the video production, stunts and is part of the core conceptualisation team.
She developed a keen interest in photography while she was volunteering in remote parts of Ladakh a decade ago. She says, she hasn't felt that she worked even a single day in the last 10 years because its her passion. SUVs and off- roading is where she finds her solace. Kanika also runs a successful social enterprise called “NIEV.”
